Star Ocean Blue Sphere English Translation Patch
I've never play it and I don't have a plan to buy GBC to play it. But I want to know about it's story. I heard that SOBS is the sequel of SO2 and it contains all characters from SO2.
So I want to know what happen to Claude, Rena and their friends. Would somebody post a summary of the SOBS' storyline from the beginning to the end and the character's change too.(I absolutely don't mind a long post! It's aways nice if anyone would share additional details) You can spam all spoiler you want, I want to know everything. Can't read Japanese though, and barely rememebr story details beyond the beginning. It takes place 2 years after SO2. Rena, Precis, and Leon have gone to live on Earth with Claude, while everyone else (except for Opera and Ernest) stays on Expel.

Rena works in the Earth Federation and Precis and Leon go to college. Anyways, Opera and Ernest go to the planet Edifice to do some treasure hunting, when their ship crashes and they are stranded. Opera sends an SOS to Precis and disappears.
Precis then rounds up everyone from Earth and Expel except for Claude and Rena, who are both on an important mission. She goes to Edifice in her own ship with everyone on it, but something pulls the ship down onto the planet and they crash land. They then go searching for Opera and Ernest in hopes that Claude and Rena will rescue them. Eventually, later in the game, Claude and Rena do go to Edifice in their own ship and get pulled down onto the planet aswell. Claude gets stricken with a deadly poison that almost kills him and you have to find the herb that will cure it before you can get him in your party.
Rena doesn't require as much work. One of the newer characters that play an important role is Rival, and there just might be a thing between her and Leon. So Edifice is the main location of the story?
That's why SO3 mention Edifice, a planet with some tribe that live in water something like that. I saw this in SO3 dictionary. Can you tell me how the story end?

Btw, in SO3 there is a scene(PA) at the transporter of the Grantier hotel in HydraIV. Fayt tried to give Sophia a book that she always wanted, the book wrote by Dr. Leon.Do you think it's the same Leon we know? If you have a GBC or GBA, you can import the game because there is no regional lockout on handhelds. There's FAQs over on GameFAQs that translates menus and the likes if you have trouble navigating, but none of them are heavy on plot details. 'They should remake this game for the PS2 or PS3.' No, they really shouldn't.
An SO1 remake is much more warranted than the relatively newer SOBS. 'Can you tell me how the story end?'
Eh, that's where things get blurry. There's a whole mess with advanced technology and references to the Moorians from SO1. Edifice isn't a terribly advanced planet, or rather the humans living on land aren't (the Edifians live underwater) but what little land there is on the planet (it's mostly covered in water, hence 'Blue Sphere') is riddled with domes and ruins full of ancient advanced technology. It actually turns out that Rival, who was helping you, is a traitor that was using you. There this whole mess over Mother Edifice, a supercomputer (who makes a reference to the 10 wisemen) and the device used to pull all the ships that pass by down onto the planet. I'm pretty sure Rival is killed in the final battle.
After that, everyone leaves on a ship. 'Umm.well I gotta ask this.did Claude and Rena get married? The thing is, I got this ending from SO2 and Rena got pregnant.' None of the endings in SO2 really corresponds with the official storyline of what happened afterwards.

Rena isn't pregnant, at least not by the end of SOBS. They have little bios at the title screen that tells what the characters did during SO2 and whats going on in their lives now by the time of Blue Sphere. Definitely the same Leon, or they wouldn't have made the reference. The dictionary talks about a 'Dr.
Star Ocean Blue Sphere Manga
Neuyman' (Precis). In Arias, Maria makes a reference to Ashton, or rather the two dragons on his back (Gyoro and Ururun). I heard there's a PA where they mention Ernest, and also one where they mention Claude and Ronixis as 'Ken(ni) Sr. Being the greatest heroes of the federation. And I'm pretty sure Eleanor T. Kross thats mentioned in the dictionaries as the ambassador of Expel is the descendant of Celine and Chris. Precis and Leon never had a thing.
Infact, they actually clashed a few times in SO2. Also, its ironic that Claude discovered Creation Energy that they talk about so much.
They never actually directly reference him in its discovery, but it is the event in SO2 in the beginning of the game where Claude gets sucked into the machine that shoots him off to Expel. That desolate dome was occupied by a civilization that was studying Creation Energy.
Something went wrong which unleashed the unstable energy, which destroyed everyone and everything inside the dome. Another SO2 mystery solved by SO3.

ZsKnight, The Dumper and Dark Force have worked hard to get the graphics extracted from the real rom so that the game could be playable on SNES emulators. ZsKnight made ZSNES load them initially, since then Snes9x and other emulators also now support loading the graphics from external files. Star Ocean emulation is finally a reality (even if it is cheating). Recently, the S-DD1 decompression algorithm was completely reverse engineered by some really clever people: Andreas Naive and The Dumper.
Pretty soon these 'troublesome' graphics pack files will no longer be needed to play Star Ocean.
